its been one week since i ate banana nut stuffed toast

woo hoo!! today is the 9th!! woo hoo!!! only 7 days left until we leave for the land of Oregon! oh how i can not wait to be there. food tastes better there maybe because they have some of my favorite restaurants like Busick Court and Bennett's. i sleep better there. the air is cleaner there. the grass is greener there. matt's parents live in Salem and plan on going on a mission soon. Once they get home from their mission, they will be moving to Utah and closer to the grandkids. Therefore, this is the last chance for us to spend Christmas in Oregon. so all of the family is making their way north for christmas and then spending a week on the Seaside coast. i havent put anything christmas up here since we will be gone i thought it a waste of time and so now i am excited to cut a christmas tree down as soon as we land and decorating and such. i am really hoping and praying for a simple christmas i begged them to promise to me but they never promise such things. whatever santa brings we have to fly home so i guess that will limit it somewhat. my nephew turns 17 tomorrow. it was 17 years ago i became an aunt at the ripe age of 10. oh the memories.

yumm-o! Matt has work off for 3 weeks! 21 days of solace.

oh and for that nativity thing it is over for the year. they do it friday, saturday and monday. so i will let you guys know next year. it is on 900 n main street in alpine.

FHE

Tonight for fHe, we went to an awesome place in Alpine. It was at a church where they do a live nativity. I guess the person who started it died of cancer and now family and friends continue to do it to aid in cancer awareness and such. Matt was sick so I ended up going with my sister, Christi, and her girls. After the week I have had, I was looking forward to something spiritual.

The first barn is decorated like Bethlehem complete with a camel named Max and sheep. After the Bethlehem barn, we were directed to go to the manger where we would find baby Jesus. It was great and exactly what I needed today. My kids were acting crazy but once we got to baby Jesus they quieted and were very peaceful. The spirit that was in the barn was so amazing. It was freezing outside pelting us with hail and all sorts of precipitation but i felt instantly warmed and did not really ever want to leave. We did eventually leave and got pelted all the way down the hill until we waited for the covered horse trailers came to take us back to our cars.

We loved it. We will for sure be making this a yearly tradition.

ok. i know it has been a long ol' time and i have been harassed for not posting more often. i dont really have any real excuses so i will give a brief review of the past 5 months.

august--
reunion with matt's family. fun times. 8th wedding anniversary. super dupe.

september--
ian's 5th birthday. awesome yo. matt out of town a whole heck of a lot. not so much awesome yo.

october--
colin's 2nd birthday. cute face. trip to star valley. fun and freezing. weezer concert ..off the hook.
matt's 34 birthday. depressing. halloween. loved it! matt out of town a whole lot again.

november--
matt out of town again..luckily his las trip of the year..thanksgiving in freezing cold st george. i loved it. my mom is the best cook in the whole world and we have not been able to spend thanksgiving with her for years. we pilrimaged and bunked with her as the house we were supposed to rent fell through. thanksgiving day was filled with food and fun. nothing is better than eating and hanging out with the fam. mmm...pie.
black friday shopping was fun. i got a few things but the workers are what make me keep coming back year after year. they are so serious and act like $4 pjs are the best thing that has ever happened to mankind. so i went to walmart at 4:00 with two of my sisters carrie and christi. carrie didn't need to buy anything so she was going to camp out by the pjs. i needed a new camera so i opted for the camera line and then christi needed some video games accessories and she waited in that line. At 4:50, i heard this lightning like sound of hungry shoppers shredding the protective shrink wrapping with their teeth and grabbing whatever they could. At 4:51, i had three cameras in hand and went to saunter off to find carrie. i found carrie patiently waiting until 5. i explained that all the electronic stuff was gone and to grab some pjs. the chic in charge of pjs shot me the look of death and said it was 4:57 not 5:00 yet. truly priceless. big ticket items are already leaving the store and she won't let anyone take their pjs. i guess she is entitled to a power trip. good times. saw twilight twice. great.
our family christmas party was on sunday. it was great to start the holiday season off with a party. i think the favorite gift received were goldfish filled bubblegum machines. everytime someone opened one my neice, maycee, would freak out and get all excited.

and last night, we had a joint triple threat birthday party for chics in my ward who have birthdays on the 11th and 12th of december. we karaoked and danced in a circle. i think i lost 5 lbs laughing so much. it was so much fun. so thanks to all who came and made it fun. baby bye bye bye. bye. bye

Memory of you

Here's how you do it-

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

trip to the endodontist

i went to the endodontist and as he was drilling away and the discovered my root was too short and that i would need an implant instead of anything else. so luckily today i only had to spend a fraction of the cost of getting my tooth fixed and then i will just have to sell my kids to pay for the rest of my implants..why oh why dont we have dental insurance?

4 dentist visits and a partridge in a pear tree

so..it has been forever so i will update everyone of our days. i took ian to see a dentist for a check up because the last dentist i went to said i needed to see a pediatric dentist instead of a regular one. so i took him and unfortunately he has my crapola teeth so needed work done so we scheduled a visit to PCMC to get his teeth worked on while under anesthesia. he did really well and when he woke up he said he his teeth were shiny and clean.
meanwhile, one of my teeth started to hurt so i went to my dentist and he informed me that i needed to see an endodontist instead of him. so i went and was told i needed to come back to on tuesday. so last week i was at the dentist monday, wednesday and friday and tomorrow will be the last i see the dentist for a while but then i have to see the oral surgeon to work on my implants..crazy crazy! why cant we have diamond teeth?
matt's grandma passed away on thursday. she was very kind and her health has been declining over the past couple of years and after she had a stroke on tuesday nobody thought she would make it much longer. so we are sad to see her go but grateful that she is no longer in pain and has her husband to greet her.
matt and i are going to monterey, ca in about a week for a early anniversary weekend and he has to do some work there too so luckily his work will pay for it. anyway i think that is it..summer is crazy busy! i am hoping once july is over nothing will come up.

LEGO INDIANA JONES!!!

If it is made of Lego blocks, I will buy it. come on, what is cuter than shooting bad guys and having them explode into little blocks, building little lego contraptions so you can cross a snake filled gorge. Lego Indiana Jones came out on tuesday and i it killed me to wait until wednesday to buy it. overall it is harder than lego star wars but it is more innovative. two thumbs up! buy it yo! i love it!!!

I am not spoiled, DANG IT!

Recently, i have caught some flack for being spoiled and lazy by someone who should know better. in the past two days, i have fixed our sprinklers, weeded weeds, planted flowers, mowed the lawn, ate some weeds, chopped down my giant tree in my front yard, figured out what i needed to fix our fence to avoid a fine and went and took care of it, got three strikes in a wii game of bowling, beat matt at boxing at the wii 17 knock outs(i dare anyone to beat that), cleaned the house, been a mom all the while doing everything else. for stay at home moms everywhere, we ARE NOT lazy and/or spoiled. i guess it depends what your definition of spoiled is. do my kids love me? yes...do i love them? yes..do i love my husband? yes..am i lucky enough to stay home? yes..does it take sacrifices. yes..i guess to my brothers benefit i did wear steve madden flip flops while doing all my chores. but then again they cost me $8 at ross..so think before you speak lil' buddy.

Oh...the weather is beautimous! Have you ever heard of Best Friend Friday? Well..now you have! I actually learned about this nifty tradition from my amazingingly put together older (but not too much older) sister. Oh..I wish I could be just like her. Oh...when will my longing ever end? Anywho..so to celebrate Best Friend Friday I threw the munchkins in my awesome ghetto van and I met my awesome ghetto sister at the park for fun in the sun..complete with kid's meals and light sabers. Summer is around the corner yo!

electrician cami to the rescue

I am a mom which requires me to wear many hats. one i didnt think i would ever wear is an electrician hat. but the other morning i was cold and went to turn the heat on and it wouldnt turn on. i tried to turn on the a/c no luck. i know our thermostat was on his last wirey leg so i thought oh great it needs to be fixed. after a pep talk with the lig, i decided to fix it myself and last night after i zapped the lights causing my children to freak out and wonder why the house went suddenly black. i tackled the task of rewiring a thermostat..it is no big deal really match wires to wires but in my head i was 6th man coming off the bench to seal a victory. so last night i tried it out and it didnt work and then i tinkered with it today and wahhhhlaawhhhh!!!!it is done. my temperature wish is my command. how did the pioneers ever do it?

we celebrated the classic way: dinner at arctic circle and two cans of diet coke .home depot and lowes..watch out here i come.

I'm back,,and now Matt is outta here!

Oregon was a great vacation. Flying with the kids wasn't even too bad. Ian had a few moments of nervousness but overall he did great. I met the nicest couple and they assisted me getting on and off the airplane, she even held Ian so i could grab Colin. It was very nice. so overall, i think my kids are growing up. Colin says Caaaa for car and goga for yogurt. Ian ran away from me at the park and just enjoyed being a kid. He loved riding the ATV's because they were his pod racers and we beat grandma past the finish line every time. His favorite part was going to grandma's work to see her. He got mad at me that it was time to come home and on the airplane cried that he missed everyone in oregon. what a cutie.

the coast was a little bit of a bummer since it was raining and so windy that we only lasted for two pictures and a quick trip to touch the ocean and we were off to warmer places (the outlets) which i had never seen so busy. i guess everyone had that bright idea.

mothers day was wonderful. i mean..come on..look at these cuties. i love them! i got to have a 4 hour nap..what says happy mothers day better than that? at church, we got see's chocolates.
all in all, i loved it but i missed matt and the kids missed him too. they wouldnt let him go from the time he walks in the door to the time they go to bed. matt left this morning for san francisco and will be back sunday. while i was gone, matt was quite busy. he knocked down the framing part of the basement and cleaned it out. it looks amazing and now we are going to be on a tight budget so we can pay off debt and finish our basement faster.

cheers!

sadness!! moment of silence

i am here in oregon. the flight went great and we made a stop at lush on our way to salem. however, the store was not opened and we had to wait to shop..which was fine. i think i was in and out 10 minutes later and $200 porer. (inside joke for those who know)..
utah..come on..we need a lush..
anyway. the best place in the world to eat is busick court. they have the most delicious banana nut stuffed toast..just about anything i have had is delicious except for those things with eggs.. grossaroo..but the people who like eggs like them so all in all a very good place. well, we have had the same waitress, Robin, since i have been there for the first time about 1 year ago. and on saturday, we found out she no longers works there. i wanted to cry. i love her so much i sent her a christmas card. i will miss her. she truly made busick court a memorable experience and it won't be the same..but the food is still good so you still should go sometime in your life. i have 8 more days here and i bet we go at least 10 more times..ha hahahahahahahahaha. we often order something to eat at the restaurant ands something to go because there are so many yummy things to try. we just cant get enough..mmmm...mmmm..mmmm..mmmm..mmmm..i am going to eat this computer screen right now! sayanora robin!

we have tried some new places since i have been up here last. we went a cake dessert place. it is some german name but the cakes are super d duper. the best one is the milky way cake. it has homemade caramel layered throughout the chocolate deliciousness..my oh my..and we went to Buster's. it is a bbq place. i think i drank nearly two bowls of sweet bbq sauce..and for those famous dave's fans this place serves coke which is a must in my book. the freshly carved brisket melted in your mouth and colin loved the mashed potatoes and gravy..

a girls guide to vegas

ok ok ok..so we just got back from vegas and seeing the Verve.. love them..it was truly magical. like matt eluded to, we have had a stroke of luck in the past seeing our fave bands reunite for us. i would have to add radiohead at red rocks and mika to the list of fave concerts and video games live. since mika's equipment was stuck in the snow, he played acoustic and it was awesome. i recently was dubbed the loudest person and everytime i screamed at the show craig would hesitantly cover his ears..i asked matt if i embarrassed him and matt said he was proud to be married to the loudest person.
we tried the best place to eat in hard rock casino. it is called mr lucky's 24/7. truly delicious. ray ray ate there on $40 a day, and she never steers me in the wrong direction. i had a club, kim and matt had breakfast with runny eggs (grossaroo) and craig with a delicious steak sandwich. a must visit. kim and i both love chocolate so doing some research we found a store called the chocolate swan. the whole trip we kept joking about a chocolate swan and once we finally got there, there was no chocolate swan to be found. so we bought some chocolate covered raspberries, chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate swan droppings (like a turtle), creme puffs, red velvet cupcake, cookies and cream custard, fruit tart, and we were on our way. if you are ever at mandalay bay, check it out. my fave store, lush, is opening right across the way so you could get some bath stuff and then gorge yourself on chocolate.
craigers was feeling sick, so matt was our lone male chaperone for our day of shopping. kimmy gib was worried that matt would hate shopping all day. she didnt believe me until we were all sticking together until matt got left at the body shop. . i told her kim and i couldnt believe that he was still in there...i assure you laughter ensued...the concert was amazing. matt never ceases to amaze me by talking to people waiting for a concert to start. he will make conversation with anyone if he can share his love and passion for music. we tried to go to blueberry hill for breakfast but we didnt have enough time and the wait was too long.
thanks to everyone for helpng with the kids. dont know how we could persue our passions without willing and nice babysitters..off to oregon for me..busick court..(can you tell i love food?) and a stop at the bikini coffee company to meet my fave person on big brother 8, natalie.
cheers!

the verve... has it really been a (a new) decade?

It has been ten years since the very ugly breakup the band that Nike popularized then (everyone) subsequently overplayed and thrust them into 'one hit wonder' status. Most people only know 'Bitter Sweet Symphony' and maybe 'Lucky Man' but for those in the know, The Verve has a brilliant back catalog of three solid albums and a few robust eps. I have been fan for a long time and finally got to see them back in 1998ish in Denver. Cami and I have had a nice stoke of luck with some of our favorite bands reuniting and touring fairly close to us. (We saw Rage Against The Machine at Coachella last year... truly epic.) See what can happen with bucket full of wishing and just a tiny pinch of magic! (everyone keep that positive energy going that John Squire and Ian Brown will make amends.)

Anyway the show was great the casual fans got some all the well know songs from 'Bitter Sweet' to the 'Drugs Don't Work'. Even I could not complain with all of the more "rock' songs like 'Rolling People', 'Come On' and 'This is Music'. They even broke the mold of reuniting bands and played two new songs; 'Sit and Wonder' and 'Love is Noise'. Both dance and radio friendly in the same vain as Urban Hymns. The Verve performed most songs in between the long winded jazz-influenced jams (the hard-core fans enjoy) and succinct radio edits, careful not to drag on too long. (potentially loosing the casual fans just waiting to hear 'Bitter Sweet'.) Note: 'Space and Time' is one of the greatest songs ever!

It was nice for me to see Nick McCabe playing back with the band. The last time I saw them he had left the band just before the Urban Hymns tour. They replaced him with a surprisingly good fit of B. J. Cole on pedal steel guitar. (strange sight but very unique and cool) McCabe brought a psychedelic feedback-infused sound more true to the Verve's style.

I have been to so many great concerts: from a venue so small the guitarist talking to fans before the show, jokingly asking if we had any requests and Cami putting her Diet Coke on the stage next to the Tim Burgess' speaker at the Charlatans in Salt Lake, to Brad yelling Charlatans USA (instead of UK) and Tim agreeing with him in that smooth British accent "Charlatans USA" back in Pomona circa 1999. And who can forget the literal earthquake that was 80,000 or so fans bouncing up and down to 'Calm Like a Bomb' with Rage at Coachella? Honorable mention goes to U2 in Mile High Stadium in Denver 1992 and both of my recent Muse shows. Asking me to rank concerts is like asking pick my favorite son. (and I only have two of them). Special thanks to all the babysiters!! My Mom and Dad, Val, Annette, Christi, Chad, Cindy, Paul, Jen, (Mom and Dad Green for watching Craig and Kim' little angels (or is it devils?) so they could come enjoy the show and Vegas. (Don't tempt me! Direct to your room in 20 min or less) -- Inside jokes for C and K only!! hahaha

Keep those fingers crossed for a Stone Roses reunion tour in 2009, everyone ,as always, is invited!

Mateo...Love him...

matt is a very competitive, analytical, and diplomatic person. since he has been blogging, he is keeping record of who professes their love for their spouse. last night,he seemed upset so i asked what was wrong. he said "cami, 97.4 percent of bloggers have at least one entry telling the world about the love of their life." and i said so what?..and then he got really quiet and said diplomatically "well you if you wanted to be part of that statistical group you could mention me every once in awhile." i looked at him and laughed..do you think i was rude? like come on..he knows i love him...

ok ok ok ok ok ok.. the top paragraph is a farce..did you actually think matt would get concerned about that kind of stuff?

i do love him and am grateful that the playstation was invented and he decided to buy crash team racing and bring it over to my house every wednesday night for almost a year so we could get to know each other. he is truly my best friend. he is always supportive of whatever ridiculous thing i try and attempt. he cares about the people i care about. he is willing to watch additional kids so i am able to go out with people who dont have babysitters. he makes me laugh and he makes me happy. when i was diagnosed with diabetes, i didnt think that anyone would want to marry someone that was damaged but luckily matt did. he is understanding when my blood sugars are out of whack. he doesnt give me a hard time when i need a break. he watches the kids so i can sleep in on saturdays. he watches the kids after church so i can take a nap on sundays. as my dad has said, matt is so calm if his house was burning down he would just say ah, well i reckon the firetrucks are coming. i will keep rockin' in this here rockin' chair. he is so calm.that is true. he is not scared to show emotions and likes a good facial as much as me..love him!

the other day he brought me breakfast in bed. it was so perfect and he knows me so well..what was it? a can of diet coke..he makes me smile and i love him! so here ya go matt, since you coerced it out of me here is an entry dedicated to you.

....getting nervous.. first blog attempt...reader beware

Hello internet- How are you? This is my first time so be gentle! I started to write a journal as I am notorious for having a bad ... you know... that thing that recalls things in your brain... (I am also notorious for lame jokes) Anyway - I told Cami we needed to keep up with the Jones' and start a blog- (we can't afford the new segway http://www.segway.com/ they have) really I just thought it would be nice to let everyone know how cute our kids are -if you have seen them you know what I am talking about! That is not just a proud dad bragging, it is a scientific fact.

So here is what I wrote in my totally out dated mead notebook. Can you believe I actually used a pen?

One night Ian was wearing his NFL pajamas containing the logos of all the teams. He pointed out his favorite team, the Colts. No, he is not a band wagon jumper--he likes them because it was the first helmet that popped out of the bubble gum type vending machine. Then he pointed to the Packers logo and said
"That is your favorite team dad".
I pointed to the Lions and told him it was mom's team- Bills for Brad (Liggett). Saints for Eddie (Mann). 49ers for Paul (Finster)
Our game continued and he would point to different teams and ask "Do they 'rock' dad?
For most of the teams I said "Yes, they rock"
After a few more teams he said he summed his feelings up with this conclusive statement.
"I like all the teams except the ones that don't rock".

One more cute, quick story: He recently got his CTR ring and proudly showed it to me and said if he ever is having a hard time he will look at his finger- he said --Dad if you are having a hard time you can look at my finger too.

Cute I know- and try to hold the tears back on this one- I asked him what he wanted to be when he grows up and he responded simply "Like you Dad".

As for Colin he is super cute he comes running as soon as he hears the garage door open because daddy is home. And when I try to leave for work forget about it!

Well cheers for now- next time I am sure to have some rant or random thoughts on why slapstick comedy is killing America or wax poetic about the Verve's reunion tour in Vegas- Only 10 days... Urban Hymns is still in the top five albums of all time -If you care to challenge me bring it on! If you are looking to debate it listen to Space and Time with some good headphones on and I bet you will go crawling back to musical taste inferiority!
Matt

You want to beat the system? This is the system..Fighting Back...

Hola!
Well the past weekend was a little busy but oh so much fun. We helped with the garage sale/bake sale for Sadie Huish. It was a bunch of fun but towards the end of the night on friday, i started getting loopy. i tried on all of the hilarious things that people had donated. too bad nobody had a camera since i had a unitard on with some spandex shorts..good times..good times..nobody recognized me..it was funny. once they heard me talk, they knew who i was. it was fun to be under the radar. i went out with some chicas on saturday night. it was a bunch of laughs. i usually always laugh at a dramatic part of a movie which may irritate those around me so better not bring me along. i laughed at the end of the notebook..come on..them dying together at the same time..chees-e! if people are going to keep making cheesy movies, then they are expecting me to laugh at them. 21 only had a couple of cheesy parts but nonetheless, when the laughter came out not very many people wanted to claim i was with them. i was getting ready this morning with the boys downstairs. when i came downstairs, i saw ian with a bag of marshmallows and some rice krispies. when i asked what he was doing he said he was trying to make rice krispie treats..he was so cute about it. so we threw the linty marshmallows away and got some new ones to make for tonight..
holy warm weather..bring on the spring!

About face

Ok. i admit i am an addict for facebook. i poked fun of it for awhile saying "it is the best way to stay in contact with people who you didn't realize you cared about until facebook was around." but i love it. i have been on the oregon trail, found out i have an accent, all sorts of stuff to wastse my time. since getting married shortly (2 months) after high school it has enabled me to find my high school friends..

ok..we got three games in the mail the other day..endless ocean is endlessly boring. what it did make me do is book a cruise and a scuba diving excursion. so i am beginning to think that endless ocean was in cahoots with the travel industry from the start. i finally finished apollo justice..it took me almost a month. middle thumb..its classic that there are 4 different characters and the cases and stories all intertwine so i liked that aspect of it. but i forced myself to finish it. pixel junk monsters is still probably my fave game of the moment. ian knows that my babies can't get killed. it is very endearing that a 4 yr old is giving me pointers. love it!
everyone who is local better make an appearance at the yard sale tomorrow for sadie huish. i am cleaning my basement today scouring for stuff to take.. english majors this blog is not for you i have runon sentences that go on forever. i write..in fragments. I NEVER CAPITALIZE because it takes too long. i hardly punctuate. so if you can get past that then super d dupe! read on..my friend read on...

Nothing Bundt Cakes...

As I travel to and fro, I like to discover quaint new places. I am still in love with Lush cosmetics, Trader Joes, and Basin. All places that I can not get in Utah which makes it frustrating, but luckily Matt goes to California for work and is willing to stop by and bring home my stuff I need from those places. However, I found a place in Utah that I love and it is called Nothing Bundt Cakes. It is 106th and State Street by Chipotle and Paradise Bakery. I love it. The cakes are not too expensive and muy delicious. For all those who know what Citizen Cake is, it is kind of similar to that but I think I actually prefer Nothing Bundt Cakes. It makes me want to run a bakery in my later years.

To blog or not to blog...

Hey y'all..

Matt has decided that we need to start a blog so people know of the cute stories of the kids and our lives. I am happy to bypass the annual cheesily written Christmas newletter that is intertwined with witty, satirical comments that just make me want to vomit up my christmas cookies so we will try this out. Since we are gamers, we will probably review some games that we have been currently playing as well..Right now, Matt is playing Tiger Woods '08. Same old, same old just one year newer.

We are looking forward to an upcoming trip to Vegas! Crazy people...but delicious food and great music.I never thought I would be able to see the Verve.. I was looking through some pictures with my niece and I was missing in them and she said "Were you at a concert?"..Apparently, we must go to concerts a lot but it is all fun and good. Colin is crazy as always and Ian is still scared of everything which I don't really mind..even though he is passing up a trip to Disneyland because he is too scared.
